The geographical position: 45º40’ north latitude and 25º37’ east longitude.

The Brasov Glade is the most important international touristic centre and winter sports from Romania. The pearl of the winter and summer tourism of Romania, is a permanent, altitude station, in the district of Brasov, situated at 13 km far from the city Brasov and 184 km far from Bucharest, the capital city of the country, at the foot of Postavarul Mountain, at 1,040 m altitude.

It is famous in the country and abroad for its delightful nature and the confortable conditions offered to all its guests.

This station is situated in an amazing mountain landscape, and is safe from strong streams, with tonic climate and intense sun radiation’s. The station is arranged for rest, ski and ride.

In winter (the ski season last from the half December till beginning of April) 3 ensembles with 10 skilfts allows the access to 12 keeped skitracks, from the lightest till the hardest (4 lights, 3 middle and 5 difficult tracks) 4,500 m long. It exists also 3 ski-fond tracks and a sledge track. But, there are also the covered piscines of the Alpin Hotel and "Cristal" Complex, an artificially skating rink, sauna (Piatra Mare Hotel), a cinema, billiard, tennis and mechanical games. In the summer you can do agreement drive on Poiana lake with boats and hydrobycicles, roll-skating, target shooting, tennis, basketball, bowling, minigolf, swimming in the uncovered piscine of the Teleferic Hotel, boating, riding and fishing in a dry climate, with a temperature situated round 21ºC. The funicular railway can climb up on Postavarul Peak at 1,800-m altitude.

In Poiana Brasov there are 2,850 accommodations places in 11 hotels, villas and 4 chalets ("Postavarul", "Cristianul Mare", "Zimbrul" and "Poiana Ursului"). Also you can find here 6,250 places in restaurants; near the classic restaurants of the big hotels (4,550 places), there also are 4 restaurants with Romanian specific (1,700 places): "Sura Dacilor", "Coliba Haiducilor", "Vanatorul", "Capra Neagra".
