PROJECTS / PROGRAMS

       These days, when there are deep transformations in Romania, which will lead to changes within the entire economical, political, cultural, ideological, financial, banking and particularly social system, many people suffer from privatisation and restructurations, inflation and devaluation of the national currency, which are growing day by day, and the number of orphans, pensioners and abandoned kids, persons who are living under the decency level and of the poor people is growing also. To this, we add the ecological disasters provoked by people, the pollution and the accidents and the natural disasters that are raising the number of them.
       But, a modest humanitarian foundation, like ours, can’t help all the people and we’ve decided for the immediate future to guide our efforts to some principal action programs:

  1. The help program for "the Help-houses for oldaged persons" and "Dr. Ioan Senchea School" from Fagaras

           Through the Subsidiary Fagaras of the Humanitarian Foundation "the Samaritain", turned up on January the 15th 1998 – Director – Ms. Elena Bitu – we intend to help with food-stuff, clothes and other necessary things the Assistance-house for oldaged persons and the Dr. Ioan Senchea School, both from Fagaras.

  2. The continuation of assistance program of the "St. Ilie Church"

           Taking into account the implication of our foundation, through the modest donation we’ve made to the building of "St. Ilie Church" from Bucharest (after the building follows the painting) we will try to help the church (which building is near to the finish but the inauguration, who supposed to be by the patron day of the Churh, on July the 20th 2000, has been already 2 times putted off because of the missing of the necessary founds.

  3. The assistance program for the building of a church in the "crippled" neighbourhood socialist types "Drumul Taberei" from Bucharest

           Taking into account that one of the biggest neighbourhoods of Bucharest, the capital of Romania, a neighbourhood with more than 200,000 peoples, has only 2 (two) churches, we’ve thought to initiate and to support the collection of donations for the building of a church.

  4. The collecting program of the founds necessary to the building of the memorial monument of the millennium <ROMANIA LCM>

           Taking in account the initiative of the Commercial Company "ROMAN TREI CONSTRUCT-COM", L.L.C. and the patriotic size of the building of the memorial monument of the millennium <ROMANIA LCM> and in keeping with the article 5c, 6.5, 6.7 and 6.9 from the working STATUTE The Humanitarian Foundation will help to the achievement of this monument through the collecting of the necessary fondues, came from the donation of the persons, companies, foundations and organisations from the country or from abroad (we are lodging this way an appeal especially to the Romanians from abroad) interested to contribute to the building of this monument.

Now, when we stepped into the 21-st century and into the 3rd millenium of our Christian civilization, we, the Romanians, who have a fascinating country, so beautiful and so rich, an interesting history and so full of events, a memorable culture and special personalities in so many varied fields, we should range those who celebrate the future millennium, looking after the past and building up a symbol of our collective memory, a monument of the Romanian history, culture, science and sports, which will become also a touristic aim and remain in the memory of our descendants.
With this monument we can prove our contribution, a real important one, to the creation of the civilized world, Romania’s most important achievements in art, culture and religion, in science, industry and technology, in sports.
We intend to achieve this memorial monument with the moral, financial and material help of numerous private and public physical and juridical persons, both from the country, but also from abroad.

DESCRIPTION OF THE PROJECT

The project THE MEMORIAL MILLENNIUM MONUMENT ROMANIA "LCM" will mark the passing to the new millennium in Romania. The structure of the monument will consist of two geometrical bodies superposed:

  1. The bottom of the construction, the PEDESTAL will have the form of a polyhedron with the bases - regular rectangles of 10 equal sides, convex decagons.
  2. On top of the PEDESTAL, there will be raised a pyramid symbolizing "the pyramid of the human knowledge", inside of which it will be a cross, the symbol of the fact that at the basis of the civilized existence of the mankind, it was, it is and it will be the religion ( Sketch No.1)

The pedestal will have thick walls, both outside and inside, of reinforced concrete and will be partly buried, partly overground. The cost of the whole operation, beeing covered by sponsoring (national or international, including from Romanians abroad), the monument’s sizes will be projected and achieved according to the financial means at hand.

For the moment, the project was concieved as follows:
The pyramid, which will have a metallic structure, covered by glass and plexyglass, will have as base a square with a 7 m side and a height of 7 m, also. The cross, metallic too, will be placed in the centre and will have the arms at 3 meters from the peak and, respectively, at 4 meters from the base.
Each of the 10 equal sides will be of approximately 5 meters and the pedestal will have a height (overground) of about 3 meters, resulting so 10 exhibition’s panels of white marble and bronze.
The main panel, through which, the visitors will be admited, Romania’s panel, is going to display, beside the map of the country, general geographical, historical, religious, cultural and sportive data, from the past and of the present, as well as the personalities who marked our history throughout the first two milleniums.
The other 9 panels will be dedicated, with the same aim in view, to the 9 historical provinces of our country: Valahia, Moldavia, Transilvania, Banat, Crisana, Maramures, Oltenia, Bucovina and Dobrogea. (Sketch No.2).

The internal part of the pedestal will be made up of 3 storerooms and a visiting hall. In the storerooms, in tight cylinders of stainless steelwell, will be placed "our collective memory":

  • The "L" chamber (from the Roman figure for 50), or the "Red Room", situated on the left of the entrance, will be opened after 50 years, on the 1-st of December 2050, or the 1-th of January 2053 (so, some of our contemporaries will be witness of this interesting event).
  • The "C" chamber (from the Roman figure for 100) or the "YELLOW ROOM" placed in the centre, before the entrance, will be opened after 100 years, on the 1-st of December 2100 or the 1-st of January 2103, and
  • the "M" Chamber (from the roman figure for 1000) or the "BLUE ROOM", after 1000 years, on the 1-st of December 3000 or 1-st of January 3003 ( Sketch No.3).

The halls of the visiting hall will be plated, also, with black marble and bronze plates, on which there will be exhibit data about the projecting, the contents and the achievement of the monument, as well as the lists of the sponsors and depositors.
The cylinders placed in the three chambers will contain individual or collective messages, of historical or personal, sentimental importance, addressed to our descendants: letters, hopes, regrets, objects, photos, ideas, audio and video messages, poems, pictures, objects of national and (or) international importance, icons, religious objects, songs, folklore objects, diaries, decorations, medals, handicraft ware.

Also, the state institutions, private firms or even natural persons who want to keep and deliver into the future a larger volume of written, audio or registered informations, will have these data stoked by digital technique recording on CD/DVD-Rom.
The tight cylinders will be then filled with fluid argon or nitrogen. By past to the main depositing spaces, will be also provided spaces for the possible depositors from abroad. To each depositor and sponsor there will be remited a participation diploma and a plaquette, containing the exact setting of the cylinder in the respective chamber or chambers. After the opening of the first two chambers, the visiting hall will be filled Up with wet earth and well compacted and then the pedestal will be sealed for 900 years more.

The planning for the achievement of the monument:

  1. 14.2.2000 – the project will be registrered at ORDA (The Romanian Office for Author’s Rights) as well as other 9 institutions;
  2. 15.2.2000 – the initiation of the project and the achieving of the monument will be made public; first contacts; it will begin the achievement of a site on Internet;

  10. 01.12.2003 – Romania’s National Day: the monument will be inaugurated and turned into a touristic objective, people will start visiting it.

    The monument will be located in Poiana Brasov, District of Brasov, on a hill that dominate the whole zone. The site has been due to its advantages:
    • Poiana Brasov is situated aproximately in the center of the country;
    • it lies at a relatively high altitude;
    • its climate is a temperate one;
    • the zone enjoys non vulcanic risk and a very low seismic risk;
    • it stands for one of the main touristic attractions in Romania, irespective of the season.

The monument will be surrounded by a protection area, palisaded with an enclosure, in the evening and by night, it will be brightly lighted by a powerful spotlights and, becoming a strategic objective, it will be permanently guarded.
We are convinced that THE MEMORIAL MILLENNIUM’S MONUMENT <ROMANIA "LCM"> will stand the time’s test, becoming a national, an European and an international symbol, a message about us and our ancestors, addressed to the future generations..

·  5. The co-operation program with other foundations or similar organisations from other countries

     Taking in account the purpose and the objectives of the foundation, ambitious enough for its modest and limited possibilities, but especially the success and the fruitful co-operation with the philantrophic organisation "AMROLUX" from Luxembourg, the humanitarian foundation "the samaritain" is open to the co-operation with other foundations and similar organisations from other countries interested to help a poorer population, after 50 years of communism.
     So, we are asking the persons, the companies, the foundations and the organisations we’ve awaked the interest, to donate and to help in different forms our programs or other programs (we are waiting for suggestions in this sense) and to contact us !

We thank you !
